3. This is a viewpoint that comes to lucky people as they age

In your 50s, you realize that television has left you behind. In your 60s,. you let go of work and your importance to anyone but your immediate family, if you're lucky enough to have them. As you head into your 70s, you realize the world is going to go on without you, so you might as well enjoy the spectacle. You're no longer allowed to be enough of a part of the world to think about fixing any of it.

Carlin's genius was that he made people younger than he was start to think about things ahead of time.

4. Very Interesting Perspective

I admire Carlin greatly but unlike him, I care.

6. Expanded thinking and just witnessing life is a good perspective. Yet,

tough to do when people, animals, environment is being harmed. Or maybe yourself is being harmed. Tough to just sit back and witness the disaster happening all around us and to us. Good to step back and breath as much as possible though and then listen to a comedian that makes you laugh, to ease the pain.
