... is that all but one of these 50 electors are Democrats. There's nothing about this that will change the outcome of the electoral vote and definitely not anything to get false hope over.

Trump is going to be president. That's just a fact. All we can do is look to make a party that's nationally viable again instead of coastal.

The DNC won't become viable until it gets a real leader for the Committee and a full time leader.

4. I think we're in danger of splitting ...

... if the 2018 midterms go really bad. In many places in between the coasts, people don't bother to run as Democrats even if the party is more suitable for them. Having the "D" by your name means there's pretty much zero chance of getting elected, so many of those people are becoming RINOs and winning that way. I just don't think Democrats nationally have really taken that into account when it comes to the potential consequences of losing.

If the losing trend continues, then it just may be better for Democrats in regions of the country to essentially form their own party in order to just ditch the "D." It sucks, but a lot of elections are being determined in the Republican primaries now simply because Democrats can't find willing candidates. If we lose big in 2018, there's a risk of that ... but if we lose in 2020, I don't see the Democratic party surviving as a 50-state progressive-moderate entity.
