(10,495 posts)Sometimes, the way the damn politics have been here the last 25 years or so, it seems there has been nothing but bad contributed to the country from my state. Then I think of people like Wille Nelson and it keeps hope alive that we can get another Ann Richards or a journalist like Molly Ivans again.
With Trump swiftly becoming an anchor to the Republican Party, dragging them down with him, and seeing the massive protest crowds turning out at each insult to our country and our way of life, I have hope for the future! The hope that the backlash will allow us to overcome the Tom Delay gerrymandering and allow Progressives to rise to the forefront. Once that happens the Republicans will be a long time ever having hope of taking the White House.
I hope also that we have new candidates who eschew corporate ownership and will reset our government free of the special interests that has allowed our government to be run by the Plutocrats behind the scenes. If that day comes we will be amazed at how good it can really be to be an American.
Willie Nelson is a Progressive who cares for or country and the regular folks in it. I think it is one of the big reasons for his popularity aside from his wonderful music.
Thanks Willie!!!!

"Trigger" is nothing without the maestro, imo. It's difficult to pick a favourite. If Lady Liberty had blue eyes.
