STARMUS FESTIVAL IV: Life And The Universe
June 18 – 23, 2017 | Trondheim, Norway




Starmus (June 18-23)

Held this year in Trondheim, Norway after several years in the Canary Islands, Stephen Hawking is the lead speaker, along with Buzz Aldrin, Harrison Schmitt and Charlie Duke, who all walked on the Moon on Apollo missions.

Add in a clutch of Nobel Laureates, physicists and musicians including Brian Eno. Co-founded by Queen’s Brian May, who has a PhD in astrophysics and his former supervisor Garik Israelian, it blends science with rock music. This year, music performers include Steve Vai and the Primitives, Hans Zimmer, Brian May and MC Hawking, the creation of Ken Lawrence who uses synthesized text-to-speech program to emulate Stephen Hawking’s distinctive voice.

The Starmus Festival was born to celebrate science and the arts with the goal of bringing an understanding and appreciation of science to the public at large.
