(19,204 posts)certainly has Sessions pegged correctly. Beauregard wants nothing less than to return to a time when civil rights were "quaint", and not a consideration when making court decisions.
Of course Sessions' appointment was another Trump exercise in choosing the person most detrimental to the positions' expressed purpose. In choosing Sessions, Trump assured himself a willing yes-man, who would take orders directly from Trump and not let his conscience (if indeed he has one) in the way. Trump's entire cabinet was chosen thusly, and this group of neutered sycophants have only their own egos as reason to participate. There is absolutely no concern for the citizens of our country, just serving Donald Trump's wildest whim completes them. They don't seem to realize - or simply don't care - that they're going to be chained to Trump throughout history. They'll be known as Trump's willing pawns forever, willing to be sacrificed at a moments notice. They could have said no to the most despised man in American history, but they decided to commit political suicide instead. This is what the Republican party has been reduced to in America.
