He also worked in national security and counterterrorism in the Clinton and Bush administrations (he left the Bush admin in '03), and was one of the people who tried unsuccessfully to warn Bush et al. before 9/11 that a terror attack was probably imminent. He's someone who ought to be listened to.

On DU, we knew on election night when our server was hacked that something was very very wrong. We knew when Hillary on Election night didn't come out to the stage. She and Bill and team had known from the Obama White House and after their email hacking what was happening and it was much worse.

We knew when Obama expelled in December the Russians in 24 hours and closed their two compounds that it was much worse.

We knew when Sally Yates was fired it was much worse. We knew when Michael Flynn had to resign it was much worse. We knew when James Comey the FBI Director was fired it was much worse.

We know it's worse and there is much worse to come.

are the gop afraid of tRump? Are they involved with the Russians, too? This is a disgrace, and the longer it stretches out, the worse it gets. tRump is a laughingstock, but running the country is serious business. He can not declare bankruptcy and walk away. He has ZERO respect from anyone, yet spouts all his BS, as though each tweet is earth shattering.

Because this is truly scary. Clarke was also Clinton's terror expert, and his book Against all Enemies has all become true with hindsight.

He's one expert you should believe. Holy crap we're screwed. 45 sold us to russia and all we can do is be disgusted by his tweets.

Darwin was wrong: We don't evolve. The fittest don't survive. Our species just slowly rots from the head down.

Your right....anyone on anxiety meds or suffering from Trump induced anxiety, should definitely not watch this.

And yes - America is rotting away right now....from its core...

If we don't stop it, its going to rot completely...

But we need people to wake up and see what is happening before its too late...

Why do we continue to use computerized hackable voting systems that are privately owned? When in God's name is anyone going to get a clue.

Instead of the crime that did happen, there's a commission pursuing the fantasy of people voting multiple times as an excuse to massively expand voter suppression. While in Kansas, Kobach made it the only state to require a passport or birth certificate to register to vote, raising the bar so that fewer average working people jump through the hoops and end up on the rolls.

At the very end (not included in the clip) is a discussion about the collusion investigation/analyses and the ongoing right-wing nonsense that colluding with a foreign adversary is not a crime. Newt Gingrich has gone as far as saying a sitting POTUS cannot be guilty of collusion. Hilarious, considering The Eye of the Newt's opinion when the sitting POTUS was Bill Clinton.

But I digress.

When the question came up on Maher's roundtable about the specific crime, Clarke immediately said the right-wing take was dead wrong. The specific crime? Treason. He said it twice, softly, and no one took the comment up. Which I found remarkable in itself.

Yes, we have a traitor sitting in the WH. Chew on that for a few moments. Then spit it out, the poison pill to infect the country, a redux of the Manchurian candidate. Putin's puppet. How nice.

Sound far-fetched? I'm beginning to think not so much.
