The Trump administration is under another round of fire for Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer, after he released damaging emails concerning him, Kushner, and Manafort. Lawrence O'Donnell discusses with Bob Bauer, David Cay Johnston, and Max Boot.

(4,341 posts)Because like Trump, they have no concept of consequence, they live for today, how much money can come my way today? How much power can I accumulate today? and the fact that many of them, in my view, are part of the collusion and plans with the Russians.
I am glad to hear a "long time republican" express himself the way he did, there was sadness in his voice and that is how the trump supporters should feel, country must come first.
I am just disappointed to hear that Muller's investigation is going to take long, there is so much damage these crooks will do in that time, I wish they could be stopped now.

(40,416 posts)The top one is: What will it take for the GOP congress to catch up to the inevitable?
I vividly remember Watergate. Yes, it took over two years for that to play out. The turning point was the Saturday Night Massacre. However, it was nearly ten months between the first House impeachment resolutions put forth that very week and when the House Judiciary Committee adopted those resolutions. By that time Nixon was very few days from resigning.
Now, I am fearful of the current situation for two reasons.
First, Nixon still had a, more or less, functioning government in the interim. Positions in government were filled with dedicated people who were doing their jobs in spite of the Watergate maelstrom. Who sees anything like a functioning government today? I don't! Drumpf seems adverse to the entire concept of both function and governance. The GOP as a whole seems aligned with that concept.
Second, things are moving a lot faster than Watergate. We are just over six months into this administration, and all we see is utter chaos. It took over two years of Watergate before Nixon was talking to the presidential portraits in the White House, one supposes. I highly suspect that Drumpf would never even consider such a conversation.
We are in big trouble. We are in the fast lane with nobody at the steering wheel.
My best to you.
