(21,765 posts)John was born in a military hospital on the government dime. He got government health care in the military. After his horrendous captivity in Viet Nam, John was treated in government hospitals and received therapy from government doctors. As a US Senator, he has been covered by government health insurance his entire career.
Now John comes back for his courageous (possibly) last vote. And the guy votes to take government subsidized health care away from millions, mainly the working poor, the oldest, sickest, and of course millions of children.
See, as a principled conservative, John is dedicated to the philosophy that government should stay the hell out of people's healthcare.
I am glad John's family will not have to make decisions between treatment and rent.
I am glad John's family will not come out of this bankrupt and destitute.
I am glad John will get the best care available, and his pre-existing cancer and/or corporate spending limits will not prevent him from getting it.
I just wish John could see that million of his fellow citizens that he serves deserve the same healthcare his family has.
