(110,744 posts)and if Dumpster Fire has many more weeks like last week, when he managed to piss off the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Boy Scouts, and the Suffolk Co. PD (and other departments around the country, his solid base), that will push them off. When their own polling in their home states starts to show support evaporating, they'll realize he's dragging them down with him and things will start to change and more will join John McCain in telling the baby "NO!" and trying to stand out as heroes resisting disaster.
I'm not taking any bets on how long this horror is going to last in the White House. He's unstable and one major fit away from yelling he quits and stomping off into the night. Or he might hang on grimly in the hope he can do what he came to do next year, obliterate Obama's legacy of the ACA and end all regulations that corporations don't like and have to get dragged out by Congress. It's impossible to predict. However, the longer he stays in office, the worse it will be for Republicans.
