I will never get over how we were consistently fed a line - even within our own party - how it wasn't important to have a woman president, and how we were not allowed to feel the sheer joy of the notion of nominating and perhaps electing a woman.

Nope. It's been nine years since 2008 and it still hurts a lot.

I think that when it was originally made they actually believed things were on their way to permanent change and equality had been achieved in many areas. I look at it as one step forward and two steps back!

People on DU usually assume I am a guy due to BigmanPigman, but I chose that for two reasons.
1. I love Pink Floyd and it is a political song lyric on a political album from a political band.
2. I am a feminist.

since that would be an insult to my feminism in many ways.
