New Obama Ad "Important" Attacks Romney on Planned Parenthood

President Barack Obama's reelection campaign slammed Mitt Romney over women's health issues in a new ad released Saturday.

The ad, titled "Important," features on-camera interviews with an array of women to emphasize the significance of access to contraception and funding for Planned Parenthood. It comes just days after the Obama administration's birth control mandate took effect, requiring most employers to provide free birth control coverage in their health insurance policies.

"This is not the 1950s," a woman named Alex says in the ad. Later, she adds, "I don't think Mitt Romney can even understand the mindset of someone who has to go to Planned Parenthood."

The ad then pivots to the infamous clip of Romney saying he would "get rid of" Planned Parenthood. In an interview earlier this year, while offering a few suggestions on how he would reduce the deficit, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee had said, "Of course you get rid of Obamacare, that's the easy one, but there are others. Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that."

he had a relative who died from an illegal abortion. Was he lying then or is he lying now?

When he was a Mormon Bishop he told a woman who was having an abortion *to save her life* to "stop being so selfish." His pro-choice views were lip service to get elected in MA.
As far as his relative who died from an illegal abortion (true story) it just illustrates what a weasel he is that he's spitting on her grave. Especially since the Mormons generally respect the dead.

I doubt that many mormons are pro-choice, especially those like him who are high ups in the mormon church.

... I have a problem with this: "I don't think Mitt Romney can even understand the mindset of somebody who has to go to Planned Parenthood,". What is that supposed to mean? Because I take it as she's saying women don't feel empowered going into PP. Any thoughts on that? Otherwise I really like the commercial. Language is powerful.

It is well established that the GOP agenda includes outlawing not just abortion but all forms of birth control.

When romney says "we're gonna get rid of Planned Parenthood", that's what he means.

Then she is saying that Romney cannot understand the mindset of a woman who has decided that she needs an abortion.
