It's Not About The Charges...It's About THE LEAKS! Beware This Tired Old Meme...
Here we go again with THIS tired old meme. The GOP is again trying to distract from the fact that the FBI has found CROOKS in the Trump Administration to the idea that the FBI are the REAL crooks for allegedly leaking the information to the press.
Note Gowdy doing it here, six months ago. Fox does it all the time, too. Saying that the REAL crime here is not what Manafort or anybody else did...the real crimes were the LEAKS.
Be on the lookout for this trick in the next few weeks. Gowdy specializes in it. A Congressional committee will go after who LEAKED the info about the indictments as being the real crime. Gowdy will haul somebody in front of the committee, and ask them to READ THE LIST of people who officially had access to the information, thus suggesting that one of the people on the list is the person who leaked. But that's actually not true. Edward Snowden leaked lots of information he didn't officially have access to. The person who leaked the information is not necessarily somebody who had access to it. But forcing them to read a list is a great way to cast asparagus on the reputations of people they don't like.
