She sounds like a psychopath.

(20,998 posts)I was asking them to please clarify their comment that seemed to state that Mike Wallace was a psychopath. It would appear that instead of clarification, they opted to delete their post instead.

(58 posts)practically everybody else who knew her ditched her when they finally realized how bat-shit crazy she was. Peikoff was a cringing sychophant of Rand's who never left Objectivism because her had no life outside of it.

(1,008 posts)Never heard of him before. Found it intriguing that he was pro-choice and endorsed John Kerry in 2004.
In 2004 Peikoff endorsed John Kerry (despite thinking of Kerry as a "disgustingly bad" candidate) against George W. Bush (whom he called "apocalyptically bad" , on the basis of Bush's religiosity and his refusal to crush Islamic regimes, especially Iran, along with his "doomed" economic policies. In advance of the 2006 elections, Peikoff recommended voting only for Democrats, to forestall what he sees is a rise in influence of the religious right, adding:
Given the choice between a rotten, enfeebled, despairing killer [Democrats], and a rotten, ever stronger, and ambitious killer [Republicans], it is immoral to vote for the latter, and equally immoral to refrain from voting at all because "both are bad."[30]

(53,661 posts)Alan Greenspan, Ronald Reagan, Clarence Thomas and Paul Ryan. In the Reagan era they laughed how driving the deficit would finally end Social Security and social programs. Ryan is Koch-funded and intends to follow through with his masters' vision to end the New Deal with help from their paid shills in the media. And the most hateful of the Teabaggers idolized her and fancy themselves to be John Galt or that they would be Supermen if not held back by the Nanny State Government. None of these people have any respect or gratitude for what they were given in life, they believe it's all from their own talent. It's immature. And it's dangerous to life and limb to have these people in charge of anything. You've probably seen the video of the Teabaggers reviling the guy in Ohio with Parkinson's and tossing money to him like a dog. They have drunk this kool-aid.

(13,704 posts)Anyone lacking the human desire for love, caring and understanding can be considered psychopathic.
I have always thought Rand would have applauded Hitler's lack of regard for humanity. Same league.

(18,124 posts)need a new progressive ad to counter the pathological reasoning here. No love, just selfish self centered garbage. THOSE EYES. She was very shifty, like was she trying to hide her psychopathology? Rand thinks like this. Poor people of this country, if they win, to the trash heap of history you shall go, immediately!

(13,704 posts)has worshipped at her altar. I think this would topple Romney/Ryan imediately. The general public needs to know the implication of allowing thinking, such as Ryan's, gain any power what-so-ever in government.

Liberal Insights
(109 posts)I'm a Christian clergyman and I have no problem with concientious atheists. I prefer them to many right wing "Christians". Those atheists dislike Rand as much as I do because what is objectionable about her is her totally irrational war against all forms of "altruism", best expressed in both her novels and in her "Virtue of Selfishness". She didn't hate Jesus becuase of his divinity, but because of his promotion of liberalism. See my http://theGodlessConservativeParty.org .

(40,656 posts)manifest but her atheism will kill support for Ryan on their side of the aisle if they truly find out. (My grandma was an atheist. Everyone has the right to do what their soul needs.)

(1,981 posts)Sexual identity aside, that is one ugly human being. And I believe her own self-hatred plays deeply into her so-called philosophy that is based on greed and hatred.
She has dead fish eyes.

(54,256 posts)Peikoff, along with Nathaniel Branden, Alan Greenspan, Barbara Branden, and a number of other close associates, who jokingly called themselves "The Collective," met frequently with Rand to discuss philosophy and politics, as well as to read and discuss Rand's forthcoming novel, Atlas Shrugged, in her Manhattan apartment.

(37,648 posts)We here in this country are part of a group. None of us is alone.
We use the streets, the street lights, the bridges, the interstates, the rail systems and subways, the purified tap water, the electricity from the municipality, the animal organizations maintained by the counties, the sanitation department, the governmental agencies that help us start businesses and complain about businesses who scam us, the FAA, the FDA to protect our food.
We use the government, and it costs. We are a group who necessarily share many things.
And we provide a safety net for the poorest of the poor, so that we don't have a situation like India or Mexico: wealthy people eating in restaurants looking over a view of barefoot poverty stricken beggars. We are better than that.
She is disgusting. That philosophy is disgusting.
I now understand the new GOP more than ever. I don't think I got the full picture before. It is a horrifying picture that doesn't belong in this country.

I think many of these uber-rich would be delighted with such a scene.
