Stephen Hawking on Star Trek

Yes, this is really Stephen Hawking, playing poker with Lt. Commander Data, Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton.

The episode is: Descent Part 1, Season 6, episode 6 of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I'm going to mourn Stephen's passing along with the rest of you; but, I'm going to celebrate, his humor, and his courage, along with his brilliance and his contributions to physics.

What an amazing human.

His warnings for humanity are spot on, too, in my not very humble opinion.

When he referenced the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle I had to laugh. He doesn't use it quite right but it's still funny.

Two of the four great minds in this clip lived during my lifetime. Newton was way before me and Data will be long after I'm gone. Still, 2 out of 4 ain't bad!
