(11,885 posts)Trump's actions, and their inaction against him and Putin and Russia will enrage more than enough voters to come out to vote against them, and take back both the House and the Senate in Nov. . Its backfiring on them so much this will happen to them. Trump made them toxic, and now he's to the point of being radioactive. He's dragging them down quickly too.

(4,341 posts)Was Putin sweating during his "re-election"? Of course not...The USA has reached a point where corruption and lies are no longer a sin, the acceptance of the general public shrugs on what is going on, in part because of ignorance, and lets face it that political ignorance in the USA is very high...so given all those facts, there is no reason for them to sweat, they have gotten away with almost everything so far. In a different World, the man-child would not be president today because the fact that it was proven the Russians meddle in the elections would have made his "win" illegal.
And now they are partners with Putin in this fiasco, they don't intend to let down, and neither does their mentor, Putin.
I don't see how anyone would think that Ryan and McConnell are not accomplices of the man-child in all that has happened, they are, I can only hope that the truth will come out and they all go to jail.
I hate to be this negative, but I have seen this movie before, and I feel horrible that the parts are being played as they were played in the past, only the actors are different and more dangerous. Putin wants to be remembered as "Putin The Great", he wants to be a conqueror, but what he doesn't understand is that Peter WAS great, he was not a crook, he loved his country and Russia, in great part, is what it is today because of "Peter The Great", but Putin is just a very intelligent but common crook, he will never be "Great".

The
Vote
The RepubliCONs who are supervisors of elections (or in equivalent positions) are mobilizing now to disenfranchise anybody and everybody who is likely to vote blue, or make voting so cumbersome that were discouraged from voting.
Tactics like:
Purging voter roles for the flimsiest reasons;
Failing to adequately safeguard computer systems including voter rolls and touch-screen ballots from hacking by Russians or others who want to destabilize our democratic republic;
Eliminating or restricting early voting opportunities;
Moving/combining voter precincts that disadvantage voters who would likely vote Democratic;
Adding or rigidly enforcing Voter-ID laws that make voting a provisional ballot a Herculean task.
We must resist each and every tactic if we ever want to return from this fascist phase to a functioning respresentative government. In the courts, through peacefully petitioning our government, and if necessary taking to the streets, as so many teens have recently done so.
Otherwise, pick another country to which youd like to expatriate. 2020 here would be a mirror image of Putins re-election yesterday.

(14,173 posts)I find that statistic very troubling. As long as Trump and also Ryan and the GOP clinging to his long red tie has the white vote, I don't think they are sweating yet.
