Thom Hartmann debating conservatives on voter ID

If you're wondering where Thom has been all month, he is recovering from an abdominal surgery mishap. Meanwhile, sit back and check out Thom knocking down conservative arguments for voter ID laws:

This video is from the Dec. 27, 2011 Thom Hartmann Program. Thom opened by citing the 2007 investigation by the Justice Department under Bush that found voter impersonation very rare. He interviewed Horace Cooper, senior fellow of the Heartland Institute. And yes, in 2010, Cooper pled guilty for failing to report receiving gifts from the disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

(Meanwhile, today, a state judge in Pennsylvania upheld the new state voter ID law...which the state Speaker of the House famously blurted out would "help Governor Romney win the election." Another segment from the 12/27/11 THP that still has relevance in this political news cycle is here, of Thom criticizing Sen. Ron Wyden, Dem of Oregon, for supporting RyanCare.)

On March 13, 2012, Thom debated Hans von Skapovsky, a former member of the FEC and now fellow at the Heritage Foundation.

Thom also did two debates with conservatives specifically about the Pennsylvania law, first with Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips on July 24:

Then with WeeklyStandard.com editor Daniel Halper on July 26:

They can never give you a straight answer and are very good at lying. It is best not to give them any airtime.

How can we call ourselves a democracy (or democratic republic, if you must) when fewer than half of eligible voters BOTHER to vote? It's been illegal NOT to vote in Australia for over 20 years and they've got one of the highest compliance rates of any country. What about Turzai in PA publicly stating that the voter ID law was going to win the state for rMoney? This whole "it isn't partisan" bullshit makes me want to puke.
