The injustice! This is an outrage!Israel saying that Hamas "wanted" this!
2700 !!!! Injured - 50 killed !!!!
They went for the lower limbs of the medical personnel.
They used "butterfly" bullets! These bullets expand and explode inside the body shattering bone, tissues and organs.

(476 posts)Israel was founded on terrorism and nothing has changed since then.

"In 2012, Breaking the Silence, an organization founded by former Israeli soldiers whose purpose is to expose alleged abuses committed by the Israeli Defense Forces released a booklet of witness reports written by more than 30 former Israeli soldiers. These reports document of Palestinian children being beaten, intimidated, humiliated, verbally abused and injured by Israeli soldiers. Eran Efrati, a former IDF commander on the West Bank has said that ill-treatment of arrested children is routine. He himself admits to having arrested children aged 11 and over as though they were adults, with handcuffs and blindfolds:"

(476 posts)Israel has nothing on Saudi Arabia... which is why it's so interesting that Israel was providing medical care to jihadis, who were funded BY Saudi Arabia.
And of course none of this is even really hidden. Look at the millions of women and children we're helping starve in Yemen. The endless war crimes against women and children in Yemen. Heck the Saudis used use weapons to bomb TWO paediatric hospitals in Yemen... and our response? Sell them billions more in weapons and cover for them in the UN.
This is not "good guy" behaviour.

(476 posts)The US is a source of a LOT of it. And a lot of that falls on voters who are ignorant of the facts.
Ask most Americans about US involvement in e.g. Guatemala and they'll have no idea... sure MOST Americans didn't even know CENTCOM was in Qatar... despite it costing them $1Billion to build... can't afford healthcare for kids though...
One retired CIA station chief wrote a book after he retired and he said that based on publicly available documents the CIA was responsible for the deaths of 6 MILLION people, mostly civilians, in South America, between the 50s and the 80s.
That's 6,000,000.
In Europe his book was fact checked and well reviewed; in the US he was destroyed publicly and his book was - as a result - only ever published once.
US citizens, more than the citizens on the vast majority of countries, have to be responsible for teaching themselves the history of their own country. Which is a damn shame, but the alternative is just endless war.

(6,344 posts)I join the demonstrations twice a year that bring awareness to ALL the ACTIVE wars the US is involved in.
When I tell people I am on my way to the Anti-War demonstration, I hear, "What war?" I say, oh about 10 of them!

(476 posts)Nice.
And good for you!
Sadly, I think nothing is going to change in the foreseeable future. The US public's ignorance has created a vacuum, into which people with pretty lousy agendas step into and exploit.
