Secretariat at the Preakness, 1973: BAM! Last to first

just like that. I like this even better than the Belmont, because Secretariat breaks last - stays there for a while - then just laps the field. Great stuff, and Sham was great, too, but there was just one Secretariat. So glad I was 21 and watched him; the greatest of all time.

still get chills when I watch it. I loved the story of Secretariat bein on his breeding farm......and whenever ANYONE came to see him and get photos of him, he’d always stand and pose for them all......always would pose for people. I just loved that about him. He knew how great he was......I loved that horse.

I've been waiting to see another horse like him. I'm beginning to think it was a once in lifetime horse.

I can watch sad movies and be OK but horse races, especially Secretariat, have me in pieces. I don't get it. Their will and heart are so beyond I guess.

Quit watching though when a horse's leg snapped during one of the races several years ago.
