(32 posts)I feel like its all just a waste of time. People who voted for trump dont care what he does. When trump said he could shoot somebody on 5th ave and people would still vote for him, he was spot on.
In a normal world, him sleeping with hookers and 3 divorces wouldve disqualified him from being president. We dont live in that world anymore. If Snooki from jersey shore ran against Bernie Sanders in 2020, Im not convinced hed win.

(10,237 posts)He lacks the self discipline, the mental toughness and the just plain smarts to ever sustain a national general election campaign. There is a reason why so many Republican doners and groups donated to him in 2016, and it isn't because they thought he was good.
PEACE!

(18,124 posts)rid of pence and the GOP control over ALL sectors of national administration, Congressional and Justice.
This bullshit about trump and DOJ being at odds is kabuki theatre and, I feel, an attempt to 'normalize' this administration. All administrations in my lifetime have had tiffs with DOJ and other Departments. It's normal in our politics.

(2,065 posts)For Rosenstein to go out there and make a public announcement declining the President's demands, saying NO, and then explaining to the American public that they had probable cause to investigate the Trump campaign, citing the following facts and events:
1) Papadopoulos telling the Australian diplomat in London that he had access to the Russians
2) The Australian diplomat then tipping off the FBI
Also throw in the fact that Carter Page was under surveilance via legally obtained FISA warrants for his Russian conatacts and activities, as well as Paul Manafort's previous work for Putin-linked Ukrainian dictator Viktor Yanukovich, and you have probable cause three times over.
So, the big question is: Why did Rosenstein acquiesce to the president's demands when he obviously didn't have to, when all investigation of the Trump campaign could easily be shown to be according to established legal principles, procedure and precedent?
This has indeed emboldened the president and his allies, and has thrown a lot of red meat out to his base, who need no encouragement.
