I am just remembering how willing he was to compromise with Cry Baby Boehner.. that was hardly re-assuring. in addition too many pundits are saying Erskine Bowles will be Tim Geither's replacement.

There were some things that President Obama HAD to comprise on with Boehner in order to get 'other' things that Obama wanted.

You probably should state which compromise you're talking about.

If you're referring to the comprise that Obama did in order to get the unemployment benefits extension passed then I would say that one was justified.

Social Security and Medicare for millions. Since Rethugs really don't compromise that means we are screwed. "Compromise" isn't necessarily a dirty word but appeasement is.

Because he is going to portray the Republicans as ideologues who will not compromise. Watch for it at the Dem convention. He is just setting the stage.

Also, if he says the counter, he loses the independent and crossover votes, and likely, the election.

That's politics.

I believe that we have an extremely intelligent President who has learned much in the past term in office. He has compromised and will continue to compromise. If anyone has read his books, written before he was elected, he is pretty much the same person now as he was then and was always about finding the middle ground and bringing both sides together.

Do I want him to continue to give in to the outrageous hostage demands of the GOP - hell no. But I understand that there must be some compromise in order to govern. Our government is horrendously out of balance with some congressmen well.... insane. The American people see this - it is why their popularity is lower than Hitler's.

We need to ensure that the President has what and who he needs to move the country in the direction that is most beneficial to America and to the world. That obligation belongs to the American people and it isn't going to do any good if we cry out in outrage after the election is stolen. We need to be working toward not only the President's reelection, but getting involved in the elections that will affect the House and Senate, now and in 2014.

There has never been a more important time, and the choices we make will ripple out for generations. Please get involved, either with OFA or locally. It really doesn't take much time, it makes you feel really good, and we make a difference

It's also great to be able to meet and talk to people who think as we do - there is power in numbers!

Shine on,
Annette
