1. That Soldier-hater doesn't belong there

He’d probably call the Soldiers who died in war “losers”, akin to his comment about how he likes his war heroes not to be the guys captured by the enemy...

As a combat veteran, I can’t blame anyone for dodging the draft. War sucks. A lot. But to dodge the draft and then to wrap yourself in the flag and spout off hawkish rhetoric and bash the service of those who did serve is, well, terrible.

He has no place or right to visit a veterans cemetery.

5. Cold rain is perfect weather for such rememberances

Soldiers suffer.

When we’re standing at such events in the rain hating the cold and the wet, I like to think that at least I here and I’m able to hate the cold and the wet and I’m standing here doing just that. It ads a little perspective, I think.

Not much will bring tears my eyes, but services for fallen Soldiers do. Often times, it’s just such a waste of life. And I hate reflecting on that. Everyone stuffed into one of the holes was once an innocent child that in most cases brought joy to their mothers and family. Most of them fought in the war because they were bribed with ideas of patriotism and honor. They did do with pure intent, but we’re tsken advantage of by those in command at the top.
