Think they missed the mark on that. Old Mr. Potter was the draft dodger. George is just the socialist putz.

Miss watching that flick down here in central Mexico, suffering with the 70 degree sunny days and lack of commercialism that drove me out of the USA.

...saving his brother in a sledding accident.

His brother than was given the medal of honor for saving a ship ,but he wouldn't have been there to save all those men had George not been there to save his brother. But George did not serve. That's the point of the Fox ad.

due to childhood hearing loss in one ear from rescuing younger brother Harry who'd fallen through ice into the river. Harry went on to serve in WWII, while older brother George held down the S & L business back home.

Yes, the RW spoof of Capra's classic wrongly slams George Bailey, no 'draft dodger.'
