3 mins. Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown says he could defeat President Donald Trump in Ohio and New York in 2020, even though he won't say if he's running for president yet. "I would say that I will beat Trump in Ohio, where they know me best. I'll beat him in my home state and I'll beat him in his home state of New York, where they know him best," the Ohio Democrat told Van Jones on CNN's "The Van Jones Show," [aired] Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
Brown said he is still weighing a presidential bid with his family and said he likes the diversity and energy in an increasingly crowded Democratic field. He's going on a listening tour about "the dignity of work" in 4 early primary states. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/sherrod-brown-i-could-beat-trump-in-ohio-and-new-york/ar-BBSM60X?ocid=HPCOMMDHP15

(63,912 posts)I like Beto, too, because of his appeal to Latinos and being from Texas, but I think Sherrod is thinking about what he would bring to Harris' campaign. And I like his "dignity of work" message.
What do you think?

(41,146 posts)at this point and would be pleased with either as VP or Pres. I want to learn more about the candidates. The recent interviews by Brown have gone very well and his strength in the Midwest is a real positive, so is Harris in CA. How great to see so many choices. (GOP Nikki Haley of SC may run which has some significance).

(7,522 posts)Brown at the top. He can bring more than Ohio - other states in the upper midwest - that I'm not sure Harris can do. Plus, he has more experience and appeals to a broader electorate. Dems already have Cali but she would be good on the second spot.

(2,785 posts)I cannot see a scenario where he wins Ohio, but doesn't win Pa.Mi and Wisconsin. Whoever wins the nomination is going to win California handily so if he feels he can deliver Ohio he should be thinking President not thinking about being on the bottom of the ticket.

(41,146 posts)successful in the Midwest is very significant. Harris whose launch speech today in CA was rousing is also very strong. At this early point I'd think Brown-Harris- great to have so many choices.
