to all of my friends to help remember why we keep working.

I probably have a unique experience on this board. I was born in the province of Saskatchewan about 2 yrs. after Tommy Douglas led the CCF (precursor to the NDP) to become the first democratically elected socialist government in North America, I basically grew up with the party. My relatives were active in the CCF and I was fortunate to have met Tommy a couple of times although I was too young to realize what an honour that was. I went on to become a senior civil servant in an NDP government that was led by some of the last of the early party members.

It's hard to realize that Tommy died over 30 yrs ago. Unfortunately the NDP is a long way from what it used to be.
