(2,888 posts)but there's still some lines that elude me.
Still, it came together so well. They're all great performers, but to carry off the singing, dialog, and choreography on a live show just boggles my mind.
David Byrne has still really got it together. Both in this bit and his musical number, he's clearly still a consummate musician and entertainer.

(205,300 posts)And you're right, it came together so well, despite guest performers and it's not like they had weeks to rehearse. I'm guessing that David Byrne was the inspiration for this, it's his kind of ensemble performance, and even the regulars were inspired to keep up with him!

(205,300 posts)Pretty much everyone was involved in this ensemble piece and they did a great job pulling it together in what can't have been much time - and I think that David Byrne may have been the inspiration.

(2,888 posts)Here's an article that unpacks the musical references. I hadn't heard any of the music from Wicked (and not much from Little Shop of Horrors), and as a bonus in one of the examples, there's a clip of Jake Gyllenhaal playing Seymore.
