I am ready to hear what the GOPers and TeaPartyers have to say about that little fact that the media has not started to talk a lot about yet

9. Forget about it. It was talked about in 1968

That's when George Romney entered the early primaries against Tricky Dickie.

I recall the elder Romney saying that he didn't have to do anything to become an American citizen but to be born, therefore he was a natural born citizen.

Mitt was born in Detroit in 1947.

Right now there are currently 6 ballot challenges against President Obama (4 in Georgia, 2 in Texas), the complaints filed are basically saying that since Obama's father was born in Kenya and not a US citizen that Barack Obama is not a 'natural born citizen'. There was one other challenge filed and it was dismissed and now in the Appeals Court.

There's a LIST of them on this PDF link: PDF: http://tesibria.typepad.com/whats_your_evidence/BIRTHER%20CASE%20LIST.pdf

On the link above TONS of birther court cases are listed on the first 20 pages,
and then starting on page 21 there's a separate list of 2012 ballot challenges.

So, since Mitt's dad was born in Mexico Mitt's 'natural born' status should get some media attention too

There has been NOTHING on the TV about this issue in regards to MITT.

I am a former teenage news junkie who is now 60. I remember George Romney and his ill-fated presidential campaign in 1968.

Romney's 1908 birth to Mormon missionaries in Mexico was only a minor issue in 1968. Nobody got excited enough to pursue it. The only person I remember making any noise about suing to keep Romney off the ballot was the perennial headline hound Melvin Belli. Four years earlier, Belli also made some about Senator Goldwater who born in the Territory of Arizona. That went nowhere.

Romney's religion was not an issue at all. I guess we have more sectarian bigots these days.

I know this is all tongue-in-cheek and a way of poking fun at anti-Obama birthers. I'll stick to having a good chuckle along with everyone else when the birthers are laughed out of court. Again.

12. I understand that you're knowledgeable re: 'George Romney' but that isn not the issue, it's MITT :)

The issue is that folks are filing 'ballot challenges' on Obama (regarding 'natural-born), and our side should be TALKING in the media about filing 'ballot challenges on Mitt' (because the same thing applies to him).

I am not saying that our side should file ballot challenges, I am saying we should be pointing out the issue regarding Mitt in the media - and that would make the folks filing on Obama even more ridiculous when they realize that Mitt's dad was not born in the USA and that MITT is in the same boat as Obama as far as where their fathers were born.

but we already know IOKIYAR

Highlighting the issue won't play with the people who need it most. To them, facts are materially unimportant, and except for the fact that they are obvious to see and as hard to brush off as white lint on a black suit, they wouldn't give a rats ass about our fancy, high fallutin' "facts."

2. Hahaha! I wonder if Mittens came back from France while evading military service with an accent?

This might be a sane comment from Mittens, you never know!

But one doesn't know if one's American accent is a fraud, since the best of the spies had their accents down perfectly during the Cold War, no?

This goes both ways, folks.

The southern accent comments was funny, and I mean no disrespect to our oppressed southern Democratic kin.

at least he doesn't want to just round up people with accents and brown skin and deport them.

My significant other is a good example of what Mittens is talking about. He was born in NYC, lived there for 3 years then raised in Mexico and lived there until he was around 25 then moved to Texas where he didn't have to learn English, then moved to Minnesota when he was around 28 that is when he first started to learn English.
