You Have The Right To Wonder What It Takes For A Woman To Win The Presidency In America

Last edited Fri Mar 6, 2020, 03:08 PM - Edit history (2)

Besides TRMS, O'Donnell's was the only other news show significantly devoted to women's political reality. And likely only for last night.

My admiration of Lawrence as a feminist ally just went up a notch.

But then, fetishing women who lose could be in play, as well. As the Doors song says, "Don't you love her as she's walking out the door..."

7. Okay. But here we are. Ignoring the EC or public belief is no real progress for women. Just sayin'.

The idea here is not that we cling to technical rightness. We've done that. It gets us no more votes than last election. The idea is that we motivate the 52% to get out and do it over and over until the EC changes.

The idea here is show-long validation to American women -- on The Rachel Maddow Show, and The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell. It's about media formal validation.

It's not consistent. But it was done last night. A cookie to those responsible for making it happen.

Overall, I'd say that women and their allies can't sit on "rightness" laurels (we've done that for millannia). Not saying you are, but it's tempting to, when one is narrowly, but not fully, right.
