(22,670 posts)I've experienced this same behavior. The more you try to protect yourself, the more they will go out of their way to shame you, touch you, congregate around you and generally just be obnoxious. They do not respect you or or privacy or your health.
I'm about ready to go Southside Polish of a bunch of them, but I think resigning my position is the better long term route.

(12,376 posts)--but I especially love the ending. Reminds me of my cousin...
Bob owns an auto glass shop. He is 76 and technologically unsophisticated. He doesn't own a cell phone. "Don't need one."
Doesn't own a computer. "What for? I don't play video games."
Doesn't own a G.P.S. "They don't work."
Anyways, his kid bought him an wifi only, iPad for Christmas. He likes listening to 50's music, so I showed him Youtube and he was happy.
One of our friends even set up a bluetooth speaker system in the ceiling so he can transmit the sound from the iPad, to the remote speaker system, throughout the shop. Things went swimmingly,
UNTIL ---
he discovered that you can get porn over the iPad. One afternoon, he's playing porn over the speaker system and watching the screen.
To his delight, came, "Oooh, ahhh, harder, harder...." until a female customer was spotted walking up the parking lot. Now, he's frantically trying to turn it all off but he can't figure out how to turn it off.
Out of desperation, he figures he can solve the problem by hiding the iPad in his desk drawer, as the customer opens the door to walk in.
Unfortunately, the bluetooth signal was not hindered by being transmitted from inside the closed desk drawer.
I'm laughing so hard, I couldn't help him.

(54,256 posts)You do not fuck with a Chicago Polack.
I lived in a Chicago 'burb for a few years a long time ago.
Stanley 'Stash' Kopala was a good friend from a southside neighborhood who had 'made good' and moved to the burbs.
I learned a lot about the Poles from Stash.
May he rest in peace.
