What we need in the United States is not hatred

What we need in the United States is not division
What we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness
but is love and wisdom and compassion towards one another and
a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country
whether they be white or they be black.



In our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God.

If only we had a "normal" POTUS now who would call on him to calm the nation in our hour of need. POTUS is a pretty exclusive club and it's tradition for new presidents to call on their more experienced predecessors for help and advice - regardless of party. LBJ called on Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter only had Nixon and Ford and when he reached out to his former opponent, Ford was very helpful in dealing with Congress. And Jimmy Carter aided the George H.W. Bush State Department with diplomatic missions. And the last successful nuclear treaty we had with North Korea was originally negotiated by nuclear physicist Carter on behalf of the Clinton administration. The entire world loves and admires Barack Obama, but unfortunately we're currently stuck with a resentful nasty sorehead.

he advised him to surround himself with people smarter than himself. trump replied, 'there is nobody more intellegent (than I am)'. They never spoke again.

So instead of surrounding himself with the best and the brightest as advisers, like any of his more intelligent predecessors did, he only chooses those who agree with him and he knows he can bully.

6. Visiting the memorial to this event, in a small park a few blocks from the

center of downtown, is an extremely moving experience. After reading plaques and looking at the bronze sculptures of RFK and MLK reaching out to each other, I stand and gaze across the park and can “see” Bobby on the back of the small flatbed truck and the crowd of supporters around it. If you listen closely you can hear him.
