Guantanamo Bay -- Ten Years and still no end in sight
Despite repeated promises by President Obama to shut down Guantanamo Bay, it seems less and less likely to happen every day. And now that Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act on December 31, which allows the military to indefinitely detain anyone presumed to be a terrorist, without charge or trial, it seems like there will be no choice to have GITMO a permanent fixture for the US.
