Carter being elected in 1976 gave great hope and recognition the evils of the Vietnam War and political treachery were over after a decade-long struggle.

But by 1980 Republicans took power again and raided the treasury to buy votes, in essence. For 40 years it has lasted—almost a Biblical period—since Republicans “captured“ the U.S.government and have never relinquished power.

This time, it’s permanent. That’s the lesson of 2020–Republicans can’t be trusted with power. They are like alcoholics taking that first drink—they won’t, they can’t stop at just one power-grab until the whole bottle’s empty.

So, it’s time to take away their power and put them on the wagon permanently. Like Nazis, they should be pariahs and permanently branded as traitors who sold their country to Russia for a few pieces of silver. And a gold toilet.

Interesting... The kindest, gentlest and most honorable president was also the one who had the shortest time in office.
