Amy Coney Barrett is Trump’s SCOTUS nominee — here’s how the conservative, anti-choice Catholic became the president’s pick to fill the seat of late progressive champion Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a position that will shape decades of policy in America for generations to come.

In US news and current events today, Trump announced Amy Coney Barrett would be his nomination to fill the seat left open by Ruth Bader Ginsburg. At just 48 years-old, Barrett, a conservative anti-choice Catholic, will affect decades of policy in America for several generations to come. So who is she? Comedian Mia Jackson provides a little information about Trump’s third Supreme Court justice nominee. In 2017, Barrett was appointed by President Trump to serve as a United States Circuit Judge on the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. During her confirmation hearing, Senator Dianne Feinstein pointed to Barrett’s article which argued Catholic judges should recuse themselves in cases involving the death penalty and abortion. On September 26th, 2020 Trump announced Amy Coney Barrett would be his nomination to fill the seat left open by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
