Since Trump reinstated federal executions, of the 8 federal-only prisoners executed so far in the last year of Trump's administration, 5 were white, 1 native American, all executed last summer, and 2 black since, with the 3 more to come, scheduled now for early 2021. Lisa Montgomery, who murdered a woman and cut the baby out so she could have it for her own, mentally ill of course, was scheduled to die 4 days ago but is still alive because her attorney came down with Covid.
Fwiw, Trump is racist of course, but I think Trump's cruelty and malice are directed at virtually everyone because he enjoys exercising his power that way and because when angry he wants to hurt everyone -- including his loyalists, who in spite of their dutiful support for everything he does continually enrage him by always failing him.
Death row inmates and the families trying to cross the border have one important thing in common: they are particularly vulnerable sets of victims available to exercise his cruelty on.
And so are those vulnerable to economic devastation, tragic losses, and death by the pandemic he not only refused to stop but encouraged his own trumpists to spread, many of whom have died and will die for it.
