Congress Cannot Go Home Until We Address Economic Suffering - Senator Bernie Sanders

Congress cannot go home for the Christmas holidays until we begin to address the economic desperation in this country, and that means providing a $1,200 direct payment to working class adults, $2,400 for couples, and a $500 payment to their children NOW.

'Congress cannot go home for the Christmas holidays until' I have a chance to vote no?

If '$1,200 direct payment to working-class adults, $2,400 for couples, and a $500 payment to their children' is his bottom line, can he inform us on the progress of his negotiations?

3. Excellent question. I'd like to know more about his negotiations and the progress he's making.

You said it! The reason it's funny is because it's true!

I'm always surprised at the vitriol against one of ours (yes he is, even by DU rules).
I shouldn't be at this point I guess.

No he's not. I think it's always best to judge politicians by what they actually accomplish and the things they do to make progress, no matter how small. I'm more impressed by politicians who are willing to compromise and find common ground. On the other hand, many people are less impressed by politicians who make grand speeches (or tweets) but end up having very little to show for it. As is most often the case, those who embrace the "all or nothing" philosophy and who are unwilling to compromise or who are unwilling to accept incremental progress will typically end up with nothing. Honestly, "all or nothing" has nothing to do with negotiating. It's just a demand that can be easily ignored by the other side. The other side will happily agree to the "nothing" part because that's simply maintaining the status quo.

All I'm trying to say is that in the end, I'm sure that while ALL the loaf would be nice, the starving people would at least rather have a slice of bread rather than an empty place. There's nothing wrong with that.

I'm always surprised at the vitriol against one of ours
What vitriol? That's not vitriol. Vitriol means "cruel and bitter criticism". Nobody here is being cruel. Nobody here is expressing bitterness. Instead, I think it's fairly obvious to most reasonable people, and hopefully we can agree that the criticism here is light-hearted.

Where on this Democratic board did you see Senator Bernie Sanders ridiculed for standing up for struggling families.

So, will people have to apply for "working class" status, and what are the qualifications? How does he propose to send that $500 payment to their children?

Details, please, DETAILS!
