Here Is The Most Complete First Person Account Of The Capitol Insurrection We've Seen

In the words of Ryan Lizza, "You might not fully understand what happened Wednesday until you watch this video." This 39 minute video documents the storming of the Capitol building leading up to the shooting of Ashli Babbitt. Viewer discretion is advised.

shows a much more dangerous situation than other videos. A good lesson in how fragile civilization is and how fragile the human psyche is too.

I've heard 56 police injuries, but have only heard a few scattered reports of injured members of the mob. I'm surprised a hell of a lot more people didn't end up in the hospital -- unless they did go to an emergency room and just weren't ID'd as part of the mob.

Might be interested to find out if there was a big uptick in injured walk-ins.

Writer speculated: if the Capitol police had done their job and prevented anybody from entering, the mob ranted for a while then dispersed, the whole narrative would be different. The gambit of Harley, Cruz and others wouldn’t be as roundly renounced. No trashing, no arrests, less outrage toward Drumpf, etc. Probably no impeachment talk. Interesting thought experiment

to do the job. They had no protective gear, nothing. They looked like freaking security guards.

At the first barrier, there were, like, six or seven bicycle police (you can see when the crowd breached the entrance, one of the insurgents took one of their bikes and held it aloft).

At the next barrier point in the hallway, there were 8 or 10 maybe, and they held them back until they broke rank to try to stop one guy who was slipping through while another was arguing with one of the cops, and then the massive crowd poured through.

Etc. etc. until the gun at the end. Watching this made me even more convinced that the lack of security was intentional. These people should never have gotten anywhere near the Capitol entrance. There should have been hundreds of Metro Police and National Guardsmen protecting the perimeter. There were none, and their absence is the big question mark of this whole thing. The crowd was able to just walk right up, and this hapless crew of a few Capitol Police was completely unable to do anything.

I think the comment posed a what if scenario. If the mob hadn’t broken in, there wouldn’t be the same level of outrage and revulsion. The way it did play out shone a spotlight on the lies and hypocrisy. A wake up call.

The one word that kept coming into my brain about the traitors: clusterfuck and thank goodness for that

This group was aimlessly moving forward---but I did see people in camo moving with purpose several times.

I was amused at all the people "filming" with their phones....and I saw many helmet cams. Wow---I guess it really doesn't happen unless you take a picture.

People wrapped in flags: Oh--Sinclair Lewis you were right.

Apparently clued him in. This guy is a real piece of work, no liberal he.

If he hasn’t taken his channel down yet, it’s because he’s a little busy and might not type well in handcuffs.
