He's got fire and conviction.....and he makes his case every night. 
He's often overshadowed by Rachel and Lawrence, but I agree he's an important and very informed voice - and he's been really speaking out lately. I came to admire him when I watched his Town Halls and he explained the issues being discussed so clearly. And he's also a frequent guest on the latenight shows, always smart and always prepared. 
Both of you were among my very first friends when I joined DU! And that meant so much, likely one of the main reasons I stuck around...
