What would stop this even faster than fines is to treat congresspeople who have made threats on Twitter against their colleagues or against our government, and insist on smuggling guns beyond the magnetometers is for the cops to treat them as potentially unstable and to 5150 them, remit them for involuntary 72 hour psych evaluation.
