... even if you don't mind the squeeze-frame format, only 1:40 seconds are shown. The rest of the nearly 8-minute video is Mr. Willie talking (or hawking and selling). Ugh.

Brian Tyler Cohen does a much better job at analyzing news clips... and he uses full-screen clips and he lets the clip play FIRST, and then he humbly waits to talk about it at the end.

6. From the DU home page, it's impossible to tell. It looks like a legit MSNBC video.

Why not just use thumbnails that accurately represent what it is that we're clicking on? That would solve everything.

8. Right. It's not even a full-screen video, it's a tiny little rectangle in the upper left corner....

Plus it's a very short snippet of Ms. Psaki. Unfortunately as presented one doesn't even know any of this until one clicks the video on the DU home page.

... it's not very professional-looking, and with all the ads and come-ons for money/donations or selling swag... it just strikes me as being a bit spammy .... and based on the fact that the "thumbnail" cover image does not match the contents, it has a click-baity feel to it (promising one thing, delivering another).

... and they generate $$ for clicks (or each click tells Youtube that they should "recommend" it to others, thereby generating more revenue.) Generally speaking, it's been my observation that deceptive or misleading thumbnail (cover) images are typically a gimmick that's used by amateur channels that lack sufficiently compelling content that will draw-in viewers (and clicks) based on the topic, or based on the reputation of the channel owner and previous content.

The WORST offenders are the ones who overly BRIGHT RED ARROWS or RED CIRCLES to draw attention to something in the cover/thumbnail image. --- Being curious, you click... and watch the entire video to discover that NOTHING in the video looks remotely like the cover image. When I see videos like that, I'll always "down-vote" them (along with hundreds of other people who've done the same thing) and I'll go one step further to report it to Youtube.

Some might call me a "nazi" or a "nanny" ... but I do enjoy Youtube and it would be a shame if it were to become COMPLETELY OVERRUN with spam and other garbage channels/videos.
