But we also need to change the law as soon as society has changed enough to get the change in law passed. Why? Because not everyone in society changes at the same speed when society changes. And if there is no law in place to protect the rights of people someone hates, hateful someones will violate those rights just as sure as God made little apples. And without the law in place, those of us who care will lack the means to protect them.

...and the dump always lands on the trans community. There's nothing beyond that, because we don't shit on anyone below us. We are literally at the bottom of the barrel. For sooooo long, gender identity has met with resistance, even from our allies. Marriage Equality became the law of the land, so that red meat disappeared almost overnight, but it helped move the needle.

We're still here and doing the best we can to take care of each other. Having Rachel Levine in the Cabinet is a game changer, but a little 14th Amendment support from the feds sure would go a long way towards giving us a bigger boost of hope. Living in constant fear all the time is no joke. Many of us face that fear and stand up. A lot of us get killed for it. Or told we can't play sports. Or go to the bathroom.

But the needle is moving in the right direction. There are a lot of incredibly talented trans/gender queer/intersex people that have had, and are having terrific success in media visibility, but more importantly, fostering connections for support, choices, options and love.

I truly hope the filibuster gets yanked...I truly do. I feel like we're at a 'win or go home, sudden death' decision on so many popular and necessary policies we absolutely must put in play by 2022.

The waiting is over. The time is now. The future is non-binary!
