I liked Ari and was looking forward to him getting his own show. Never watch it now. The references aren't the only reason but it was one.

But when he goes off on his rap references, he's lost me...

And I don't mind rap references, just in moderation as with any other reference. It just makes him seem like ... I'm not sure what? Trying too hard to impress the hip crowd?

That's the reason he's on, IMO. But I don't know why he goes off with his rap references, guess it's his hobby and he's certainly entitled to it, but I'm guessing that these are lost on most of his audience.

I started posting Colbert in early 2017 since that was about the only way I could stand hearing current news - and I remember when Bill Maher used to be posted with a warning that it wouldn't last long, so I found the "official" site where the videos stick around. And I realize that most folks here don't stay up as late as I do - or have cable or even TV - and during the past 4+ years we've needed the humor here more than ever!

And he can't see what is so unpleasant about watching him do this.

But his rap references are totally beyond me and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one - and he deserves John Oliver's call out - and at least he has a sense of humor abut it.
