To be held accountable. Complementary and alternative modalities such as herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Naturopathic Medicine. etc... offer effective treatments for most of the chronic and degenerative diseases that the American healthcare system has to deal with, and, in most cases provide better outcomes with few or no debilitating side effects and a better quality of life. In other words, these corrupt jerks need competition in the form of viable alternatives to their overpriced and damaging drugs - then they'll start being more accountable. As it is, they've got a virtual monopoly on our healthcare system, and one that is, frankly, unnecessary, as alternatives that are safer, cheaper and more cost effective actually do exist. Katie Porter may be great at what she does - at humiliating these bastards, that is - but they'll just consider it to be a necessary slap on the wrist, kind of like the cost of doing business. The situation won't really change until their virtual monopoly is broken by a real and viable alternative. Complementary and alternative modalities have proven their worth, and they should be funded by insurance companies and integrated into our national healthcare system in a more aggressive, proactive manner. I personally believe that we won't truly solve our national healthcare woes until we do this.
