From the clip I saw of the OANN piece the Rosenbergs were not displayed.

Fox News regularly tried to trash Stelter. He clearly hits a nerve.

Hannity’s TV show is a subdued version of his radio show. It’s nothing but catch phrases and inside jokes. The first 10 minutes is a blizzard of these and the listeners know exactly what he means. There was a great post on DU a week or so ago that summed this up - it’s not just “oh it was a joke” it’s code that can be denied.

Lastly- I’ve been trained by the Army and the focus of basic training is that you will DIE! So what are you going to do for “the team” before that happens. The reposter nailed it about the viewer being conditioned to accept more and more extreme actions. Goading people to act? Yes but more importantly it’s getting the old folks to not think the last thing or January 6th or Charlottesville to be really THAT bad.

They believe their god is working his magic through the likes of Hannity and Dump. They crave tough talk and believe all conflict and disagreement should be settled with violence. Peaceful negotiation is weakness in their eyes and compromise is failure. Sadly, their rich overlords control and exploit them expertly.

But I don’t share your optimism. Nor do I think all is lost. I think we’re in the midst of a battle, a slow motion battle that will not be resolved -- one way or the other -- until 2024.

82,000,000 people voted for the good candidate in 2020. That’s where our hope lies, but it will lie dead on the field if our Generals (Schumer, Pelosi, most Democratic Senators and Representatives) don’t create battle plans that will beat the Fascists into the ground.

Sad to say, yes, I do believe Republicans are Fascists. They are attacking voting rights across the land and now the State of Oklahoma is getting ready to pass a law that would have put Darnella Frazier in jail for her video of the murderer, Chauvin. The Nazis in the legislature there call it “Interfering with an officer in the exercise of his duty” or some such cover to defend the police state. (See here:https://theblackwallsttimes.com/2021/02/24/oklahoma-bill-makes-it-illegal-to-photo-or-film-police-dems-vote-yes/)

They are not even trying to hide it anymore.

An honest SCOTUS would knock down all of the voter suppression laws and kick out of court the clearly fascist laws depriving citizens of their right to confront the police and to vote. An honest SCOTUS, of course, would do that unanimously. Our current so-called “Conservative" SCOTUS will be tested repeatedly as these laws come before it. To the question of whether it will render honest and honorable decisions, I recall that John Roberts threw the Voting Rights Act into the garbage because, he claimed, that racism did not exist any longer to a degree requiring Federal law to protect the right to vote. That is how a “Conservative” SCOTUS thinks. So, frankly, I am not at all confident that our current Conservative SCOTUS will shoot down the racist voter suppression laws and laws designed to protect police brutality that are currently being passed by racist Fascist legislatures.

So in 2022, if the Dems can add four or five Senate seats -- to neutralize temporizers like Sinema and Manchin (and doddering old fools like Feinstein) and maintain their hold on the House, they’ll have a powerful force when they meet the Fascists for what will be American Democracy's Armageddon in 2024. Otherwise, as the Bard said in a different context “What rein can hold licentious wickedness/ When down the hill he holds his fierce career?”
