environmentally destructive and has resulted in people's deaths, slavery, child labor, destruction of native lands.

Anonymous needs to change that part of their message.

People have feared systems of financial control since biblical times, and for good reason: If you get a world dependent on digital currency for instance, your every single interaction has to go through a third party who therefore has control over every transaction, making everybody in a position of servitude to them. The precious metals thing is about resisting that, being allowed to conduct a direct transaction without third party involvement.

I have heard about the gold mining evil, especially in Latin America recently. But trying to devalue gold to prevent them from mining it isn't the way to address that, simply because you are talking about trying to devalue gold. The only force in the world acting to devalue gold is these miners themselves, using crazy measures like strip mining and slavery to flood markets with as much as they can. Stopping them raises the value of the gold by scarcity. Its better to directly attack these wrong methods than to devalue the commodity they are seeking.

I agree though that anonymous could be doing better than advocating precious metals though. Any group of people with enough honor and integrity can establish an internal system of credit, creating their own currency through principles similar to fractional reserve banking. That was the original driver of much western economic growth, but like all things it depends on good faith and good will. The advent of predatory lending has devalued the concept of credit to being a system of exploiting others through contractual manipulations, and this has lead to systemic weakness and wealth inequality.

Wealth inequality wouldn't be bad if it were superman getting the hundreds of millions. If he accomplished 1000 times the work of normal men to get that much, 1000 times the goods and services would be getting produced. But its not superman up there, and that means his money is not coming from what what he has produced, but from a premium placed on production. That means a system where the work of production is de-incentivized, and the cost of products is inflated. Therefore any system which avoids that predation will ultimately economically out perform the status quo in the US.

as opposed to stocks and other bankers games. Cut back on the money you contribute to the banks.

On Friday, tens of thousands of peaceful protesters poured onto the streets of Idlib showing their support to the Free Syrian Army and chanting for freedom. They are dancing and singing songs of the revolution while Arab League monitors watch from the rooftops above.

We might be taking to the streets chanting 'This Land is Your Land, This Land Is My Land...'
