(22,069 posts)Gun shots fired at America's Pastime. Who could imagine such a thing, (snark).
Here's the weird part: Once the gunfire was heard outside the stadium, the authorities had all the spectators exit the stadium! What if the people with the guns were waiting outside to start a mass shooting, (think Las Vegas)? I think if I had been at that game, I might have hd out in a men's room for a while to make sure there wouldn't be bloodbath in the parking lots.
Can someone please explain to me why there are more guns in the U.S. than people? Why can I buy a gun more easily than a car, get married or have a child? Hell, when I was asked to play piano for children's ballet classes, I had to agree to a background check! And yet, this afternoon, I could go to the gun shop a couple of miles from home and return with 2 or 3 firearms. I just better be sure to have my driver's license because on the road to the gun shop is a notorious speed trap.
Guns are almost totally unregulated yet they account for plenty of death, injuries and mayhem. Does this make sense?

(7,413 posts)You would have to show a government issued photo ID and pass a federal NCIS background check. For handguns there is a three day waiting period unless you have a concealed weapons license (which also requires a separate more in depth background check and fingerprints). Dont see how it could be more regulated as far as background checks, some states do restrict people to maybe 1 handgun a month or something like that, so someone could only buy 12 a year with that restriction in place.
