For some reason, a large portion of the GOP is hell-bent on forgetting about Jan. 6, even denying an insurrection ever occurred. This, from the party that brought you Blue Lives Matter and who campaigned on a message of law and order. Never-Trump conservative Mona Charen and liberal media critic Eric Boehlert join Mehdi to discuss some of the absurd talking points being tossed around after the first Jan. 6 hearing. However, the question is whether the Republican Party can survive it. I think not, they've made too many dirty deals with too many devils since the end of WWII to grab and keep power--then too few deals with people who know how to use power ro run the country effectively.
They might have survived Nixon and the southern bigots. There is no way they can continue to survive Reagan's Evangelicals. Evangelicals are incapable of reason and compromise, which means they are incapable of governing except by dictatorship.
And that is where they're at right now.
It's just appalling to think that is their best choice for dictator.
