2022 is going to tell us whether America -- the America we were all born into, the one that was dragging itself slowly but perceptively towards its ideals of equality and justice for all -- will stand. If the Dems lose the House and Senate -- a horrifyingly possible occurrence -- it will be the end.

And it isn’t just the fascist lies of the Right Wing that will destroy us. It’s “we the people” -- or at least an uncomfortably large percentage of us. Just enough worshippers at the Golden Ass to give the gavel to McCarthy and return McConnell to the throne of the Senate. By the time 2024 were to arrive, the entire Biden/Harris agenda would have been so thoroughly blocked that the GOP would be in a pretty good position to re-take the White House.

So 2022 holds the key to our future. If there are any Sarandon’s or Steins out there who sat out the last 2 elections or who voted for 3rd party candidates as a way of announcing their lack of confidence in the major parties, they had better wake up to reality. 2022 is a choice, a serious choice, between democracy and fascism. It will not be a time to sit out an election in protest, but a time to drive, run, walk, or crawl to the polls to vote for whoever is the Democratic candidate. Period.
