Florida Schools Stand Up Ron DeSantis By Defying His Ban On Mask Mandates - Ring of Fire
A legal showdown could be headed to the state of Florida, with more and more school districts and counties saying that they are going to mandate face coverings for children heading back to school next week. One county, Broward, has already backed off their mandate after a threat from Republican governor Ron DeSantis, but more districts are stepping up to challenge the governor's power as they attempt to keep their students safe. I'm in New York and we had a mask mandate last year in schools. I'd see even the youngest kids getting off the buses and they were still wearing masks. And we did have breakouts here in local schools, towards the end of the school year they canceled sports and after school activities at a nearby high school because of another breakout - and this was before the Delta variant.
