A group of parents in the state of Florida are suing Republican governor Ron DeSantis over his ban on mask mandates, arguing that it puts children in imminent danger. This lawsuit is long overdue, and it the potential ramifications from it stretch across the country. As more and more Republican-controlled states get ravaged by COVID and refuse to let cities and counties enact preventative measures, more people - including children - are going to be injured by the virus.
