But once the religious right, fresh off their loss in trying to keep schools desegregated, decided to stick around to be a political player, they've been radicalizing their believers like never before that THEIR beliefs, including political, are sanctioned by God. I'm 49, and I started reading the newspaper religiously in fifth grade, and I remember religious leaders saying Reagan was chosen by God, and they've said that about every one of their presidential candidates since then, getting more strident every time (holding their nose with Romney and finally breathing a sigh of release after election day so they could return to attacking Mormonism as a cult) until we ended up with Trump. There was some trepidation with Trump at the beginning, and honestly, we've forgotten a lot of the things he's done just because there was so much of it. I've been listening to past episodes of a political podcast to try to catch up to current episodes - so 3 or 4 episodes a day while I work, and when you are cramming a month's worth of news and commentary into a day, you realize just how bad it was with the things he did. They really got behind Trump and claiming he was anointed not just because of all the programs/laws he pushed and the judges he appointed, but he gave them permission to be more open with their hatred. It must have felt like a huge relief to finally be able to say the things they've always wanted to but were afraid of repercussions (and we all remember stories of people doing that and being shocked when there WERE repercussions, and they would say something like, "But Trump...&quot

What I've never understood is why they fight against whomever they claim - that day - is the Anti-Christ. That character is needed in their mythology to usher in the last days. It should be both impossible to fight against him, and they should be glad he's around, which makes me believe that unlike what the video says, they're not all that jazzed for the end times.

Apparently this is a pre-requisite for The End, so they set about to do it.
