We have had such systems for decades. Fire activated sprinkler systems or halo systems for electric fires, etc.. Its well developed.

they had heat fuses on them that would break the globe if it got hot enough. IIRC, you could also use them like a fire grenade. Break them at the base of the flame, etc.

Still continuing innovation is a good thing, building the better mouse trap as they say.
